Accompanied by the development of information society, a widely growing concern about information literacy has shown from the public. For many years, university libraries have effectively implemented information literacy education on its own feet by teaching document retrieval. However, with no specific content and advanced technology in use, domestic educators can hardly accomplish the goal of nourishing students'information literacy.Aimed at reversing the dilemma described above, this paper tries to define the content of information literacy and to bring in some new technology in instruction. Accordingly, the research process is divided into two stages. On the first stage, the basic units of content are derived from analyzing 4 competency standards of information literacy and collecting the content units from 186 textbooks, supplemented by related documents research, social needs and students'suggestions. Then, the basic units of content are classified according to the answers of experts-questionnaires. On the second stage, multimedia courseware and teaching website are bringing in daily teaching activities. In courseware, pictures and texts work together to deliver knowledge comprehensively, and the usage of databases is showed in vivid animations. In teaching website, six main functions are defined as follows: students'questionnaires, online tutorials, online test, assignment platform, study forum, and resource sharing & construction. Specially, the online tutorials enable students to study the course with no limitation of time and space. And the resource sharing & construction encourages broad collaboration among librarians, teachers and students.
