Between the end of the Qing and the beginning of the Republic of China experienced the dynasty to alternate, the internal disorder and foreign invasions. China was in the time which the old civilized disintegration but the new civilization not yet formed, the old-style library system also was under the impact. By then faced populace's library to produce, simultaneously also emerged one group of thought active scholars, Including Lin Zexu, Wei Yuan, Wang Tao, Kang Youwei, the Xu Shulan and so on. They translate the book to introduce western library, either goes abroad the inspection, either personally carried on the library construction the practice to elaborate the library related theory, the initiation China's library enterprise and the library academic thought. This article conducted the research on the library thought between the end of the Qing and the Republic of China, and gave the estimate.First, translates the book stage: The leading exponent is initial civilized library propagator Lin Zexu and Wei Yuan; Second, on-the-spot inspection stage: The leading exponent is that early phase west library thought propagator Wang Tao , Zheng Guanying, Xue Fucheng and Guo Songtao; Third, practice stage: The leading exponent is flexible library practitioner Xu Shulan and Miao Quansun; Fourth, preliminary theory achievement stage: The leading exponent is Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao , Li Dazhao , Lu Xun driving the activist that the library moves; Fifth, theory system initial stage: The leading exponent is occupation library scholar Sun Yuxiu , Shen Zurong and Yang Zhaozhe.The thesis will introduce every stage leading exponent and their thought, and estimate that.
