Manufacturing Execution System(MES) acts as a bridge between super transaction processing (such as ERP,MRP II) and automation system(such as PLC,DCS). On the aspects of the optimizing dispatch organization of the productive plan, the control and improvement of the production process, the issues of instruction and the collection of real-time production data, the realization of the workshop production to be agile, and so on, MES is playing the more and more vital role.How to promptly make the response and report to the events, and carry on the restraint and process with the current accurate data to them, achieve the goal of the optimized management during from sending the production order to completing the entire production process.On the basis of analysis popular system design and application about MES, and integrating complex production craft characteristic in PANGANG Cold-rolling Mill, involving the object-oriented analysis and the design, Three layers of structure ,the database cluster and so on certain essential technologies, we developed MES of PANGANG Cold-rolling Mill.This paper takes information construction of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co. as the background. The first, it analyzed the crafts of PANGANG Cold-rolling Mill at present and expatiated the problem that this mill needed to resolve in the process of developing MES .The second, it explained the system structure that the MES adopted, this structure included information model, function model and the interconnected blueprints of relevant information systems and regular system, and expounded its orientation and function. The third, on consulting the present advanced network technology, we carried on the design of the network system, and guaranteed to make the good physical platform for executive system. The fourth, we Carried on the design of the application system, and designed the function module taking advantage of three layers of structure. The fifth, we designed the database and safety of system by using advanced database cluster technology and data safe practice. Finally, we realized this set of system, for a instance, I expatiated detailedly on on quality control module.
