The domestic research about MES concentrated mostly on the process manufacturing industry, and the research on ship manufacturing is relatively small. In this paper, the ship manufacturing execution system is designed to provide a reliable platform for the management of the production process of shipbuilding enterprises to meet the basic function, which connects the plan layer and control layer, to achieve real-time feedback of on-site production data, and the reasonable job shop scheduling which bases on obtained real-time data. Accordingly, this paper will have a datailed research on the functional structure of the ship MES, data acquisition model, and production scheduling model. It can be divided into six parts:In chapter one and chapter two, the article describes the background and significance of the research, makes an analysis of the research status and application status of manufacturing execution system at home and abroad, points out the lack of domestic research on MES, and then elaborates on the relevant theories and the various kinds of models of MES.In chapter three, it makes a research on the ship MES system standard, which combines with the characteristics of the ship manufacturing industry and refers to ISA-SP95 standard. It builds a ship MES framework of the standard system initially, and provides a unified system of support for the guiding criteria for the planning and implementation of MES projects in shipbuilding enterprises.In chapter four, on the basis of analyzing the theory and its functional model of the MES, the article proposes befitting MES functional model for the manufacturing sector,which combines with the initial MES system standards in the third part. This functional model consists of five major models and 18 sub-models, which also describes various parts of the whole model and the relationships of them by using the IDEF0 modeling tools.In chapter five, it makes an intensive study of the ship MES data acquisition model, and discusses the choice of data collection points, collecting information storage, collection process, and collecting methods in detail. It proposes data collection methods which bases on bar code technology, and designs a prototype production data acquisition system.In chapter six, this part makes an intensive study of the ship MES production scheduling model, analyzes the theory about shop production scheduling, and proposes the ship MES production scheduling function model and mathematical model. It also designs the prototype system of production scheduling, which can free managerial personnel from cumbersome manual operation and improve the implementation and control of the scheme and reduce the time and error during information transfer by using intuitive visual interface, so as to enhance business competitiveness.
