| At present, the use of the computer network increases everyday. The network management needs to be well performed, in order to make sure that the information passing through the network correctly and efficiently. International Organization for Standardization defined five conceptual areas of management, which are fault management, accounting management, configuration management, performance management and security managementAs the scale of network increases rapidly, it is a very difficult task to manage all the devices on the present network with the traditional individual management tools. Network management system is the solution for this problem. The researching and developing of network management system has been a popular subject for the recent years abroad. But the domestic situation is not the same. The development of network management system has just begun. The domestic market is ruled by a few famous foreign products. Therefore, developing the independent network management system has great significance.A network performance management system has been designed and actualized in this thesis. It's a sub-system of the network management system: Tx Net Manager. Tx Net Manager is composed by five sub-systems. The other four are responsible for management of topology, assets, configuration and events.The network performance management system collects performance data based on SNMP. After the collecting, this sub-system uses a statistical arithmetic on the historical data to calculate and revise the baseline of the network performance parameters. Based on this baseline, the monitor module of this sub-system can adapt different time segment more precisely. The program is written in Java and developed in Borland JBuilder 9. This system database is MySQL 4.1.12. |
