Design And Implementation Of Network Management System Based On SNMP

With the rapid development and widely application of network technology, nowadays computer networks have penetrated into all sides of society and the important role of it becomes self-evident. The increasing of network equipments, the expending of its scale, the complexity of the structures as well as current demands for increasing network security, all of which need a practical network management system to help control over real-time network performance, monitor network errors and optimize network structure in order to maintain a normal and stable operation of network.This paper studies the simple network management protocol and related elements, on this basis of which designs and implements an integrated network management system. The author of this paper mainly works on the designing and implementing of the server management subsystem, including configuration management sub-module performance management sub-module, fault management sub-module and security management sub-module. Through the network topology, monitored device can be clicked, so as to have configuration information and various performance parameters checked, automatic alarm provided, parameters stored away, and then according to the analysis of historical data and statistics, an intuitive web page displayed to the manager. Based on these reports, network problems and hidden danger can be removed, network devices configured or changed. The system also provides other security management functions, such as adding, deleting, changing, modifying the permissions settings and passwords.System commissioning and testing show that the system is reliable, stable and visually operation, and that it is accurate and timely for data acquisition and processing. So the desired objective is achieved.
