Design And Realization Of The Network Management System Based On SNMP

With the constant development of the informationization of manufacturing industry, many enterprises promoted management and design level, improved the business procedure, improved production efficiency, and so came with the corresponding benefit through introducing some application system such as PDM, CAPP, ERP. At the same time, these systems set a higher request to the network, the enterprise network scale unceasingly expands, the complexity increases, so the network management becomes one essential part in the whole enterprise network platform.This article thoroughly researched the present development of the network management technology, analyzed the typical manufacture enterprise network characteristic, then designed a network management system based on SNMP, and studied the key technologies of the system, realized the partial network management function. The task of this artical includes below:(1) Design the system general framework, analyze managed objects in MIBs we need, design table structure which store these managed objects.(2) Collect data of the managed objects from SNMP agent using SNMP++, and store these datas into correspondence tables then calculate all kinds of performance parameters.(3) Research network topology discovery algorithm, include logical (layer-3) topology and physical (layer-2) topology.(4) Show network runing states by table or gragh according to the collected datas and calculated results, realize configuration management, performance management and fault management.At last, what has been researched is summarized, and possible prospect to the network management technology are briefly discussed.
