Smart Remote Meter Reading System Design And Development

With the development of intelligent community, Intelligent Remote Meter Reading System (IRMRS) is paid more attention to by gas company, land agent and customers, and IRMRS with veracity and reliability has become an actual requirement.Based on analyzing many current projects, this paper develops an IRMRS which fits the situation of the china, The IRMRS is composed of the Management System of front-end computer and the Data-collecting System of back-end computer, and they communicate with each other by PSTN and the superstratum communication protocol. With the Data-collecting system, its constitutions including data capture, data concentrator and data communicator are designed in detail on their hardware schema circuit and software program, and the understratum communication protocol is designed. The function of the original gas data collecting, processing, memory and transmission is implemented by RS-485. With the Management System, the modularizing design thought is used, and the Communication Module and Database Module is mainly designed. It not only realizes remote reading of gas data, intelligent processing and multiform reports exportation, but also can do remote monitoring and control on gas meters and other reading equipment. The paper also analyzes the unreliable and disturbance factors of the IRMRS when it's running, and some effective measures to enhance reliability and anti-disturbance of the system.Through the running and testing, the IRMRS we designed was proved to be having a good ability, such as easy on installation and debug, reliability on running, convenience on operating, veracity on data-collecting and so on. It achieves the preconcerted goal, meets the actual requirement, and has a wide application in the projects.
