Research And Development Of Automatic Meter Reading System Based On Wireless Channel Gas

Until recently the Automatic Meter Reading systems collect data remotely from customers' meters using lineate communication technologies, such as powerline, telephone, RS485 or a hybrid of above. But with the development of town and intelligent community, the lineate Automatic Meter Reading systems, which have the connatural disadvantages such as the difficulties of cables layout, the long period of construction, the high cost of installation and maintenance, poor expansion and so on, can't meet the development of the town. While low power wireless communication because of its characteristics of convenient communications, simple network, no need to apply for the right to use frequency and less investment, is more and more used in the automatic meter reading system.Based on analyzing the current gas automatic meter reading systems, on the current lineate meter reading system platform of Ruixun Corporation, this paper presented two different types of wireless meter reading system using low-power radio wave communication technology: two-way wireless gas meter program and the wireless acquisition program. In this paper, the hardware and software of these two programs are designed and realized.First design wireless gas meter. As the existing meters having the problems such as counting inaccurate, requiring complex wiring and poor reliability, this paper has designed two new wireless remote meters for two different wireless meter-reading programs. Second this paper has designed a wireless data collection terminal for the wireless acquisition program which has an independent storage space, is able to collect the data of one-way wireless gas meters, also can respond to the hand-held meter reading terminal instructions. Third design hand-held meter reading terminal software. This paper is mainly used wireless hand-held meter reading terminal as the information carrier between wireless gas meters, wireless acquisitions and the upper-class information management systems to exchange information. The hand-held meter reading terminal uses relevant communication protocol to communicate with the wireless meters and the wireless collector to realize the data storage and reading of wireless gas meters and the setting of the meters. Last central management information system realizes the data of hand-held meter reading terminal import, downloading meter reading tasks and the hand-held meter reading terminal setting functions. Meanwhile, the management information system realized upload data intelligent processing and report output functions.The testing shows that system performance achieves the intended goals, the system meets the actual demands and has a higher value to the practical application.
