"Ku Band Low Noise Frequency Source"is mainly concerned in the paperincluding two parts. First, Dielectric Resonator Oscillator: A GaAs FET –ATF26884and a high Q dielectric are used to design a Ku band dielectric resonator oscillator.Second, Phase Locked Loop: Ku band signal can be locked to a stable referencefrequency by the sampling phase detector –Mp7200 and digital phase detector ADF4252. Then, a IF signal will be outputted, which can tune the oscillator frequency ofthe DRO. At last, we can acquire a low noise microwave frequency generation(12.75GHz).Chapter one, abstract, briefly introduces the application and research of themicrowave frequency source in home and abroad , and the main contents of thisthesis .Chapter two and three,the principle and simulation of dielectric resonator.MESFET DRO (dielectric resonator oscillator) and amplifier are introduced. Theresults of the simulation and the design layout are given in these two chapters. In thedesign procedure, ADS, CST and Protel99Se are usually used.Chapter four, the use of sampling phase detector –Mp7200 and digital phasedetector --ADF4252, and the principle and design of the loop filter are introduced indetail. Mp7200 includes a SRD (Step Recovery Diode), capacitors and series pairSchottky diodes. At last, the design procedure and the result of PLL are provided inthe chapter. The loop filter is a ideal filter designed with OP07, which is simulated bythe special software –ADISimPLL.Chapter five, briefly introduces several common microwave frequency source'sdesign. It also gives the design procedure of Ku band low noise frequency source withADF4252 and Mp7200. At last, we also provide the testing result and photos of Kuband low noise frequency source.
