High performance frequency synthesizer is absolutely necessarily technique that ensure modern electronic system to achieve high performance, and Phase-locked technique is one of important technique to realize high performance frequency synthesizer .Therefore ,the subject is to study the design theory and engineering realization of the low phase-noise phase locked source in microwave band. In this paper,two kinds of PLL frequency synthesizer working in S band and X band will be researched. At fist, we review the basic of phase lock loop and it's constituent part. Analysis phase noise contribution made by parts of PLL system including loop filter of PLL.As result,I have gotten the algorithm for accurate predication phase noise in PLL synthesizer. After that the basic conception and design method of sampling phase locked frequency synthesizer and data phase locked frequency synthesizer was introduced, especially introduced S band sampling phase locked frequency synthesizer and S band data phase locked frequency synthesizer in detail. by reason of VCO determine the outside band phase noise of synthesizer, design a high performance VCO is the crucial constituent part of this paper, basic conception of DRO and the method that using EDA tools to design DRO was introduced in detail.
