With the development of 3C (Computer, Communication, Consumer electronics) area, kinds of high-speed digital systems have been widely used. Traditional design ways already can't give a reliable solution for these systems, especially when DDR (Double Data Rate) memories come into fact. High-end designers must pay special attention to the signal integrity problems.Through using SI analyse in the hardware design of a DTV Set Top Box (STB), the main contribution of this paper is to give a series of solutions for SI problems according to theoretically analyse and real works. Advanced measuring systems have also been shown in the paper. With the help of this paper, the STB system of a world famous corporation has successfully get wide using of DDR SDRAM. System features have been improved so that the requirement of the market has been met.Chapter 1 gives a general background of SI problems after introducing ofthe main parts of a high-speed digital system.Chapter 2 gives detailed theoretically analyses of the main parts of SIproblems (such as reflection, crosstalk and SSN).Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 introduce the most advanced measure systems. Aseries of solutions and design rules have been given according tosimulations and real works.Chapter 5 gives a summary of the paper and foresees the development ofthe SI analyse. Analyses with SI+PI+EMC have been brought out as adirection.
