For solution the issue of exchanging data on the governmental affairs system of e-government, in our project, we establish the egXML standards of exchanging data of e-government which are based on XML standards. The purpose of project are providing the base-of XML standards of exchanging data, standardizing the application development of profession and government, unifying the format of exchanging data of network, and achieving exchanging data between the governmental affairs systems which have the similar or different architectures, elevating the level of information in the departments of governments, accelerating the development of interior e-government.At first, I introduce the relative applications here and overseas. And I present XML (extensible Markup Language) and relative technology. Then I discourse the system of egXML standards with application to e-government. The standards system is based on Schemal.O technique standard which is formulated and referenced by W3C. The egXML supports W3C XML1.0 technique standard surely. On basis of this, I evaluate the solution of e-government at the range of the network framework, and the important function of the XML standards. Finally, I study the applications of egXML standards on the Lotus Domino/Notes and universal browser. I mainly explain the method of converting data between the Domino documents and egXML documents by use of Java Agent on the Lotus system.
