Classical Chinese teaching is always a weak link in high school Chineseteaching process in minority nationality regions, the author teaching in Naxi areas foryears feels their non-native language learning is quite difficult, especially classicalChinese learning. Although the spring breeze of the new curriculum reform hasspread on both sides of the Changjiang River, the teaching of classical Chinese inNaxi areas is still hard and not of much difference between the new courses and theold ones. The author as well as the other Chinese teachers still feels confused and hassome trouble in the teaching of classical Chinese. Such as: dull atmosphere in theclassroom, feeling bored for lack of interest, the teaching effect being not good. Inorder to improve the teaching condition, the author made the following discussion.Firstly, the author conducted a questionnaire survey about classical Chineseteaching among the teachers and students from Naxi Autonomous County Nationalitymiddle School, which is Naxi typical. I collected and sorted out the survey datas.It isthrough the analysis of questionnaire survey from teachers and students that theauthor found five major problems: one is that the orientation of teaching aim is notaccurate, the weak learning view, classical Chinese teaching outlook being notoptimistic; two is that poor teaching methods, traditional teaching facilities, thenon-active classroom atmosphere; three is that teachers do not pay attention topreview and learning method guidance in teaching process; four is that teachers’ ownclassical Chinese accumulation is not deep, studying ability is not strong; five is thatthe school condition is limited, in other words, the attention and investment to thetraditional culture is not enough. Through the analysis of questionnaire survey onstudents, there exist five problems too: one is that the vast majority of students live inrural areas, they are lack of the advantages of the study of ancient culture; two is thatthe function of the ancient culture is not accepted by the students, as a result, learningclassical Chinese motivation is not strong, the interest is low; three is that teachersconcentrate more “remembering” than “reading”, more "words" than"text", more "differences" than " similarities"; four is that teaching and learning method betweenthe teachers and students is lack of change, thus the teaching effect is unsatisfactory;five is that students’ reading to the classical Chinese is narrow, not adequate,furthermore, few extra curricular books do the students occupy.Secondly, based on the referrence to a large number of literature, the authorcombined my own teaching with practice, according to the present situation, putforward some corresponding countermeasures:First, as teachers,we should be certain about the important significance ofimproving classical Chinese teaching under the new curriculum background,Classical Chinese can gather national spirits, promote the quality of human culture,pass by the national culture and improve the quality of Chinese language;Second, through meaning learning, teachers and students’ experiencing emotions,a variety of teaching methods, a variety of teaching aids, activity methods,weteachers stimulate students’ interest in learning classical Chinese;Third, different learning stages should adopt different methods. During Senior1,stress habit forming; during Senior2, stress spiritual and cultural infiltration; duringSenior3, pay more attention to guidance, summary and appropriate exercise training.Fourth, in the analysis and appreciation of these ancient proses, teachers shouldclosely foucs on the characteristics of each poem to teach effectively, not be full ofgeneralities, stress the key points, such as which to choose from "emotion","reason","shape","text",“thinking” and carry out the teaching related to deeply.Fifth, teachers should strengthen their own teaching and research ofschool-based curriculum and constantly improve their professional quality, do theirbest to become an excellent teacher, who can teach students in accordance with theiraptitude and adapt from one place to another.
