Our country is a multiracial country that has 56 nations. There are 15 ethnic minorities whose population over a million. And the Korean nation is one of them. Most of Korean people live in the northeast of china and the Inner Mongolia area. Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture is the largest Korean region in Jilin province. It makes up 43% if the population of the Korean in china, and the population in other areas are small which are called the scattered areas. At present, how is the status of teaching the classical Chinese in these high schools and how is the students'status of the study of the classical Chinese? The writer designed two kinds of questionnaire for the teachers and the students. For teachers'questionnaire, we have 3 questions .The first is that the basic situation of the teachers. The second is that the teaching status of the classical Chinese. The third is that the teachers'opinions for the classical Chinese teaching. For students'questionnaire, we can follow three aspects; the first is the basic statues of the students in the Korean high schools. The second is assessing of the teachers themselves. The third is the status of themselves about the study of the classical Chinese. According to the two questionnaires; we can exactly know the teaching status of the classical Chinese in these areas. Through the questionnaires we find the flowing question. The first comes from the disadvantages influence of the university entrance exam. Secondly, the Korean teachers'level about the classical Chinese is limited; thirdly, the number of the text about the classical Chinese is limited in the students'books. And the knowledge in these texts can't connect well. And the last problem is that it's hard to understand the classical Chinese. How to teach well is also a difficult problem for the Korean teachers. It's also difficult for the Korean students to study it well because of the limitation of their native language. Is it necessary for the Korean students in the scattered area to study the classical Chinese? Is the classical Chinese useful for the Korean students? Is it necessary for the Korean school to pay attention to the classical Chinese teaching like the other normal schools? So, in this thesis, I state the importance and necessary for the Korean schools to pay attention to the classical Chinese in three aspects .One is that the classical Chinese can assist the Chinese teaching and other subjects which are about culture and history. Another is that learning the classical Chinese can help students understand the Chinese ancient culture. The last is that it can improve the national education. As a second language, it is hard for the Korean to study Chinese .And how to teach Chinese in the Korean schools in the scattered areas? It is sure that we can't copy Chinese teaching ways; after all it's a second language for the Korean students. We shout not only teach the knowledge of the Chinese, but also the ability to use it, because the ability is the most important. Writer asked some teachers for some experience and summarized their valuable experience. And the writer also has taught in a Korean school for almost 5 years, and learns from the teaching methods the Chinese language .So the writer got some advice. First of all, we should charge the attitude of studying the classical Chinese. Second, let the students understand the significance of learning the classical Chinese. Third, let the student get interested in learning the classical Chinese.
