Starting from the development history of mobile communication, this article describes technical characteristics as well as service features in brief. WCDMA network optimization procedure is also introduced. Its focused on the wcdma key technologies and utilizing it to solve possibly encountered problems in WCDMA network optimization. The article demonstrates the distinction on network optimization between WCDMA and GSM/GPRS networks, also, the challenges WCDMA network optimization need to be faced with. Furthermore, it clarifies that wireless network optimization is a circular, continuous natural extension of network planning program. Then it introduced the current situation of Henan Unicom WCDMA network optimization by listing some existing outstanding issues in current networks and resolving issues with optimization measures in different spectacles. As a conclusion, the necessity of network optimization is lead to. Moreover, depending on the analysis of the thesis Henan Unicom WCDMA network optimization cases, the thesis brings forward the solutions to swich, interference, coverage, data configuration, etc. Finally, it sums up the Henan Unicom WCDMA network optimization program, meanwhile, takes an outlook on WCDMA networks trend of development. With the approaching of 3G era,the WCDMA network optimization, which is a complicated and arduous system engineering, appears more important and urgent. Its a so long-term project that practical experience performs significant STEERING EFFECTS. Therefore, I should enhance the problem-solving capabilities in the participation of optimization programs, by takeing the measures like continuously study, collecting optimization cases, summarising experiences.
