In recent years, in order to meet the constantly enriched requirements of people, a large number of equipment are developed towards the large-scale, intelligent direction. If some important equipment is in trouble some time, the consequent result could not only threaten people's lives, but also can bring huge economy loss. Under this background, the people's requirements that research and developing condition based on monitoring system become more and more urgent. The development of equipment condition monitoring system started in 1970s last century. In the following years, the equipment condition monitoring systems are developing fast and being used in many areas.Based in the research, the equipment condition monitoring system based on FLEX3500 and ZigBee is designed in the thesis. This system is mainly composed of two parts, the system that the analog signals which can be captured, stored and sended with the flex3500 single board controller and the system can store and send on the wireless nodes with the ZigBee protocol stack. FLEX3500 single board controller is developed under the Dynamic C platform, many math functions are included in this platform. These libraries are used in the programming to achieve acquisition part, flash memory, and send data etc. The nodes with the ZigBee protocol stack can be used for the implementation of wireless transmission, distribution systems. ZigBee protocol stack from bottom to top can be divided into:physical layer, media access control layer, network layer, application layer. This design is at the application layer, by modifying and adding the corresponding application layer functions to meet the requirements of the terminal nodes, coordinator nodes.The system is versatile, expansibility, and of other advantages. Many signals from different sensors can be received by this system, and it can also be re-configured the formation of star-shaped, ring-peer network structure. The system will be used in many fields of application for its flexibility and expansibility, and a good foundation is laid for our further research of the equipment condition monitoring system.
