In recent years, the demand for both wireless communications and data transmission in many fields such as information society, intelligent family and industrial automation is increasing. ZigBee protocol has emerged as a brand-new technology on wireless sensor networks and displayed a good momentum of rapid development,and that it also aroused great interest and concern of the science and technology workers at home and abroad.The technology has the characteristic of micro-up energy, a strong network capacity, low operating cost and high reliability.It is easily used to form a low power, low data rate, short transmission distance and low operating costs "WLAN", widely applied to unmanned military and ingenious network communications, industrial control, monitoring air quality in large and medium-sized cities. Hospital medical surveillance, highway automatic admission fee, residents automatic admission fee Electric water, consumer electronics equipment, PC peripheral areas of the wireless connection also enjoy the technology.Many domestic universities and research institutions have a lot of research work in this field. The study covers the design of wireless sensor device hardware, operating system, network routing technology, power-saving techniques, control technology for coverage and so on. But they has no own intellectual property rights in either ZigBee protocol stack or hardware module, and that Most of them are based on foreign RF chip and protocol stack for application development.Through a large amount of information and depth study of both IEEE802.15.4 standard and ZigBee protocol standard, this subject developed a code with independent property rights agreement ZigBee Stack -EmZigBee, and produced a ZigBee hardware module. And it achieves an "intelligent traffic junctions based on the ZigBee wireless network" examples based on my own Zigbee protocol stack and hardware modules. This Paper is in seven chapters as follows.Chapter 1 is an introduction, introducing the subject background, status, purpose and significance.Chapter 2 summarizes the ZigBee wireless transfer technology, technical characteristics, ZigBee standard network architecture and protocol architecture.Chapter 3 elaborates on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard definition.Chapter 4 elaborates on the ZigBee standard Specification released by ZigBee Alliance.Chapter 5 details how to achieve the protocol stack—EmZigBee.Chapter 6 puts forward an application based on the protocol stack— ZigBee wireless networks and intelligent traffic junctions, including hardware design, software testing and performance analysis.Chapter 7 gives a summary of the issues and prospects.
