Equipment has becomed an important object in the manufacturing industry in the era ofindustrialization. If the equipment fails, it would damaged itself, also would affect the normalproduction of enterprises, and cause economic losses to the state and enterprises, so it is verynecessary to monitor the equipment which is running. At present, people mostly uses the cableway to monitor the condition of equipment, the transmiss speed is very fast, but still has itsdrawbacks, such as wiring troubles, high costs, poor scalability and so on; and people is veryrarely use wireless network to monitor the condition of equipment.The technology of ZigBee is one of the representative technology of the thing of networkand wireless communication technology, the network cost low, high reliability, large coveringarea, easy to expand and other advantages, it is very well to make up of cable way. People canuse ZigBee to monitor the equipment group which is runing, it can greatly reduce the cost,and also is very easy to extend new equipment. In this paper, the ZigBee technology is appliedto monitor the condition of equipment.This paper first introduces the purpose and significance of the research, the developmentand application of ZigBee,and the research status of condition monitoring technology; thencompare of various wireless communication technology to illustrate the advantages of theZigBee, and analyses the theory of ZigBee, network structure and protocol specification etc.Then we design the structure of the system and the structure of each part, and describethe function of each part detailly. And then, design hardware and software of the dataacquisition module and ZigBee wireless module, which makes the acquisition module withdata acquisition function, wireless module with networking and data transmission function,we take a plurality of test to prove the effectiveness of data acquisition module and ZigBee wireless module.Finally,we use LabVIEW software to design the system,implementefunctions of the user loging, online monitoring, parameter setting, data storing and reading,warning and signal analysis, and we take a simulation test to prove the effectiveness of signalanalysis function.
