Recently Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) is showing great advantages and potential to interact with the real world. WSN is low-cost, low power consumption and two-way communication technology. In this project, a WSN and web-based model is proposed which provide a humanbased and efficient platform for data collection and monitoring. The proposed system can detect the environmental parameters like temperature, humidity and light. The system is divided into three parts Zigbee end devices, Zigbee coordinator/gateway and host computer/client devices. The WSN end nodes and WSN coordinator were deployed in a monitoring area using Zigbee communication protocol. Gateway act as bridge between Zigbee network and host computer using Wi-Fi module. All the sensed data stored in host computer and client devices can easily access environmental data using web browser. User friendly interface was used by authentic user to accessed data from web server after authentication. Findings of this thesis suggested that proposed WSN and web-based data monitoring and collection system can provide a better model to monitor environmental parameters compared to previously developed systems. |
