In recent years, with the development of sensor technology, electronics, automatic control technology, computer technology, modern ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology has entered into an information processing field based on computer control, which can use the computer to establish a specimen model with a variety of artificial and natural defects in order to obtain signals of various defects. This paper is a study for rotary parts of CNC lathe machining, through computer simulation of ultrasonic propagation in the medium, which can correctly understand the characteristics of the ultrasonic transmission process and provide scientific decision-making for flexible automatic ultrasonic testing, determine the correct and reasonable detection method, and finally achieve the automation and intelligence of ultrasonic inspection system.This thesis developed a simulation system of the process of ultrasonic detection, which was established on UG NX 5.0 platform by using secondary development tools to UG, for example Visual C++ 6.0, UG/Open MenuScript, UG/Open API and so on. The following issues are mainly studied and addressed in this thesis:(1) Ultrasonic detection simulation and emulation technology development and current situation were introduced.(2) The basic theory of ultrasonic wave, including the type of ultrasound, ultrasonic speed and ultrasonic reflection and refraction laws, was elaborated and, finally, several commonly used ultrasonic testing methods were summarized.(3) UG/Open development tools, XML parsing technology and VC++ calling MATLAB engine technology were in-depth study, which laid the foundation for the design of the system. (4) Comprehensive utilization of UG/Open development tools and other programming technologies, the simulation system of the process of ultrasonic detection was developed, and the user interface and user menus were designed. The system included the sound field simulation display module, the part modeling module, the test path simulation module and the test waveform display module. And all the module programs were designed.(5) At the end of this thesis, we give some application examples of the simulation system of the process of ultrasonic detection.The system has the following features: simple interface, easy to use, favorable man-machine conversation, expandability and so on.
