With the development of computer technology, digital devices are becoming more widespread. However, most information of the nature world is analog signal. Data acquisition is the process of sampling of analog signal and conversion of the resulting samples into digital numeric values that can be manipulated by a computer. Data Acquisition System is a complete set of equipment used for data acquisition,has been widely used in various fields of industry.The paper used the PCI IP core to implement the PCI bus interface, designed and implemented a 16-channel Data Acquisition System based on PCI bus. First the paper compares a variety of implementation of PCI bus interface, and selects the implementation of using PCI IP core for the design. After this, analysis and design of hardware has been done, the system selects FPGA as the system controller chip, responsible for system control logic and IP core implementation. AD974 is selected as analog-digital conversion chip. data buffer is done with dual SRAM by ping-pong operation. and data is transferred to computer by DMA with Interrupt mode. At last the paper describes the design of driver and application.The multi-channel Data Acquisition System designed in this paper, achieve the data acquisition of any combination of 16 input, is easy to upgrade, can be applied to a variety of industrial products testing.
