As a kind of effective way to relieve urban population travelling pressure, urban railway traffic is developing rapidly at present. Converter is the most important core component of urban railway vehicles so that related data acquisition technic and communication system are the most important factor ensuring urban railway vehicles safe&reliable, efficient and intelligent in the debugging and running stage. Aiming at these two aspects, the article does some researches at the background of National Key Technologies R&D Program for the11th Five-year Plan "Research of urban railway traffic energy-fed traction supply system and traction drive system".According to the strcture feature and operating principle of urban railway vehicle's converter, analyse the effect and importance of A/D data acquisition for motor rotor field-oriented controlling and vehicle communication system. On this basis, put forward the demand analysis of data acquisition for vehicle converter. Summarize the malpractice of the existing data acquisition technic and use a kind of new data acquisition method based on Delta-Sigma A/D second order modulation and Sinc3digital filter realized by VHDL in FPGA. Verified through simulation and experiment, this new A/D data acquisition method has a lot of superperformance including high resolution, high speed, low time delay and anti-interference, can meet the need of data acquisition system for converter.Put forward the demand analysis of network interface and memory aiming at the communication system of vehicle converter. Combining the bottom network structure design and system hardware resources, based on the powerful NIOS II embedded soft core processor of Altera company, related Avalon bus structure and interface specification, the tools of Quartus II and Qsys, define the userself's IP core, add and set all IP core, and then connect, finally generate the NIOS II CPU centered hardware system. Based on Eclipse development environment, realize the connecting between NIOS II hardware system and upper software program, complete the software program design on the basis of hardware system, finally achieve the function of RS232serial port communication, ethernet communication, LPC communication, FLASH reading and writing operation and so on.Combining the data acquisition and communication system of vehicle converter with scomassistant, virtual oscilloscope, Labview vehicle testing interface in upper computer, realize the real-time monitoring for the working condition of vehicle converter, complete the data transmission and storage of vehicle converter with another system, guarantee the convenience and reliability of vehicle converter at the stage of debugging, running and daily maintenance.
