From 1983 until now, "The Southern Weekend" already has passed through 27 years. It was just a rest and recreation newspaper at the beginning of publication, but now it has developed a comprehensive newspaper which has the unique idea, the bright time characteristic and the largest circulation in China. It also held the important position in the Chinese newspaper industry market. The success of "The Southern Weekend" could not separate with the social environment and the newspaperman's endeavor. Perhaps we did not know what the change of " The Southern Weekend" later, but it will always cry out for the weak group and speak for society. It intense social responsibilities and the sense of mission will not change, "The Southern Weekend spirit" will not vacillate.This paper analyzes the reforming progress of "The Southern Weekend" through the two respects, vertical and horizontal.
