On the basis of Carey'views and with the help of the concept of "collective consciousness"and the knowledge of "citizen journalism", the thesis emphasizes the function and significance of《Southern Weekend》on constructing the "social community". Nowadays, as the gap between the different ranks in China has the wide trend and social stability has hidden danger, the function of《Southern Weekend》, which connects public and construct the society community, will definitely and positively benefit for the construction of Harmonious society.
