Research On The Analysis And Application Of Integrated Product Meta Model

Product model is the core of Product Data Management (PDM), focusing on the rationality of product model in PDM, the principles and characters of Integrated Prodct Meta Model (IPMM) were analyzed using object-oriented technology, the rationality of IPMM was also analyzed and the standard to determine whether a PDM system conforms to IPMM was proposed. Based on the analysis of the default product model of Windchill 9.0 PDMlink and Teamcenter Engineering, which are two typical PDM systems in practice, the default product models were improved respectively with the customization tools provided by the systems, using IPMM for reference. A fixture was used as an example to show its realization in PDM systems. The dissertation contributes to the analysis and application of IPMM. The contents of the dissertation are as follows.Chapter 1 is introduction. The background of this research is introduced first, and based on the analysis of research status quo and application of product model in PDM, problems existing in the rationality of product model and the combination of research and application are indicated, and the research content and structure of this dissertation is presented.Chapter 2 focuses on the principles of IPMM and its modeling using object-oriented technology. IPMM is introduced briefly and its principles, characters and modeling principles are analyzed. Modeling IPMM using object-oriented technology is also presented.Chapter 3 focuses on the rationality of IPMM. Rationality of IPMM is analyzed in two aspects, and the standard to determine whether a PDM system conforms to IPMM is proposed. The application condition of IPMM is presented, and the application of IPMM is briefly introduced.Chapter 4 focuses on the application of IPMM in typical PDM systems. Default product model of Windchill 9.0 PDMlink is analyzed and improved using the customization tools provided by the system, default product model of Teamcenter Engineering is also analyzed and improved. The product models before and after the improvements are compared, and a fixture is used as an example to show its realization in PDM systems.Chapter 5 is summary and prospect. The whole dissertation and the innovations in it are summarized, and further researches are prospected.
