Design And Implementation Of A Product Life-cycle Management System Based On Windchill

Nowadays with the development of enterprise informationization, problems inproduct manufacturing industry are more and more obvious, such as information isolatedisland of enterprise, artificial management and maintenance of the document and so onseriously restricts the efficiency of products manufacturing, how to improve the level ofenterprise’s informationization effectively during the production process has become animportant challenge faced by all large enterprises. given these circumstances, product datamanagement (PDM) system came into being, but the traditional product data managementsystem just for the management of product data,the storage was only some related data forthe products, it’s usefulness for nowadays product research and development,we expectthat have a system which can achieve the lifecycle management of products.This paper describes a product lifecycle management system based on Windchill, thissystem will manage the whole product lifecycle process ranging form the collection andarrangement of requirements to the delivery of products. The core of this system is theproduct structure tree, including the requirement tree,the business structure tree, thelogical structure tree and the achieve structure tree. By the product structure tree, we canbind the various stages of product development together organically,unified managementof the manufacturing process of the products,so that we can find the original sources of thevarious parts,requirements and documents,and avoiding there’s no structures in every units,data scrambling and document approval process cumbersome, error-prone during thedevelopment of the products in the past.The system transformed the presentation layer and some bussiness logic layer ofWindchill.Abandon Windchill its own presentation layer,using the emerging technologyExt js,re-customize the system’s own front page.In addition the system also add some newfunctions,such as the import and export of the four structure tree,the CRUD operations ofthe properties,quick search and advanced search of objects that make it more adapted tothe special situation of enterprises,to achieve the goal that every stages of productdevelopment mutual collaboration,data management norms,data sharing moreflexible,multi-version parallel development,replacing the manual handing of many thingsin the past,the level of informationization improved greatly.
