Airfield lighting is a navigational aid to protect the plane for a smooth take-off, landing, taxiing at night and under the complex weather conditions. It provides the pilots with the location, direction and guidance of the runway to make the plane land safely within the eyesight of the pilots. Airport navigational lights monitoring system is a system that can monitor and control navigational lights on the airport ground (including runways, taxiways, contact road, etc.) with the use of computer, network and modern communications technology. With the rapid development of the aviation industry, and the continuous improvement in the quality of the aircraft, it also puts a higher requirement about the development of advanced navigational lights control system. In the same time, as the rapid progress of industrial automation and the wide-spread application of computer, it almost impossible for the traditional industrial software to meet the demands of all kinds of consumers, according the application of configuration software for monitoring receives much attention.This thesis has designed the PC of airport navigational lights computer monitoring system by using the iFIX configuration software, it uses MMB intelligent measure and control component to complete the human-machine data transfer and interaction, and realizes interconnecting human-machine interface with MMB host to complete the task of communication and monitoring.The real-time database are designed and the real-time monitoring interfaces are configurated by using the iFIX as a development platform. It presents network architecture of the system, and besides, uses a hot standby operation to guarantee the security and sustainability of the whole system. It solves the problem of permission transform between the tower and lighting station, which makes it more convenient and accurate in system monitoring and controlling, and realizes integration of management and control for the manager of the tower.Realizing integrated monitoring of airport navigation lighting and power system by using modern network technology, advanced electronic technology and computer technology is an important symbol of the current management modernization of the airport. It can not only make the system efficiently and reliably working and receiving accurate fault alarm, but also reduce the time of airplane rising and landing, increase the list of sailings and reduce operation cost, greatly improves the management efficiency and provides prompt and accurate guide for airplane rising and landing.
