Advanced control software platform (ACSP) based on iFix is presented on industry communication specification OPC (OLE for Process Control). Based on the platform which is highly reliable and extensible, advanced control project can be developed fleetly.The conception and significance of advanced control and the actuality of advanced control software development and application in the world are introduced. The thesis presents the practical meaning of advanced control software platform based on iFix.The design and architecture of ACSP based on iFix is intuduced in the thesis. It is a general architecture that is based on real-time database that includes OPC Server. The iFix has a function which offers real-time database including OPC Server. Any supervisory control and configuration software with OPC Server can be used in this platform. The ACSP based on iFix supports configuration software, advanced control and optimization software, soft sensor software, and model identification software. It is an integrated architecture of advanced control.The thesis lists three methods to developing OPC Client based on Microsoft .NET Framework. Considering the development and the running stability of software, the method based on component is used in the thesis. OPC Client is embedded in every software module in the platform.Finally, the thesis gives some suggestions to improve the platform, and presents the advices for perfecting interface design, data communication mode. In addition, more work can be done such as extension of configuration software and strengthening document management. The perspective of the platform in CIMS is described.
