With the development of CAD (Computer Aided Design) technique, the CAD software such as AutoCAD, Pro/E and UG etc. is widely applied in many fields in our country. The work of exploiting standard parts library (SPL), which is according to the standard of our country, has acquired considerable achievement, but with the development of network and information technique, the weakness of these SPLs has appeared gradually, for example, the lack of information resources share and the inconvenience of transplanting function module etc.In the light of the problems above, the development of network SPL based on Pro/E, the exploitation of the standard parts' browse and inquiry using network are studied in this thesis. The thesis discusses from three aspects as follows.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the weakness of the current SPLs, and the improved scheme is put forward. The network architecture of this SPL system is established using the network mode of Client/Server, the function modules of the system are also divided.Secondly, the modeling subsystem of SPL is emphasized in this thesis. Two series of SPL's modeling subsystems are designed using the feature modeling technology and the template modeling technology. The two subsystems take Pro/E as platform, which are created by the application-programming interface (API) of Pro/E -Pro/toolkit in the development environment of Visual C++ 6.0. The database management system of SQL Server 2000 is also adopted in the SPL system.Thirdly, a three-tier architecture based on the B/S mode is established in the system of the SPL's browse and inquiry, the value of middleware in the system is analyzed, several middleware technologies are introduced. At last, the system's implementation model is presented.The SPL system and the system of the SPL's browse and inquiry are implemented at the end of this thesis, providing useful tools to the engineers.
