The Design And Implementation Of Wireless Image Sensor Network Node Based On Zigbee

Wireless sensor network is made up of many low-cost energy-efficient wireless sensors which have the capabilities of information retrieval, computing and communications. With the rapid development of microelectronic technology, embedded system and communication technology, multimedia sensor network research has become extraordinary necessary.After in-depth research of the characteristics of image retrieval, image compression and wireless transportation, this paper provides a design of wireless image sensor nodes with AT91SAM7X256 as core MCU and Zigbee as wireless communication protocol. The system adopts a modularized architecture, including three modules of image sampling, processing and transportation, which cooperate together when running corresponding application software with ARM C language. The functionality and performance of the system has been verified in the experimental environment. This system can be applied in environment surveillance and intelligent home system.
