With the development of modern communication technology and network technology,wireless sensor network has been widely used in national defense security,industrial control,environmental monitoring and other fields because of its low cost,low power consumption,short delay and other advantages,and has a broad market prospect.Because the working environment of wireless sensor network is mostly unable to lay cables,the wireless node resources are limited and can not be replenished frequently,so it can only rely on the battery power supply with limited energy.Therefore,the service life of a node has a great impact on the working time of the whole wireless network,and it is of great significance to study the methods to reduce the energy consumption of wireless nodes.Aiming at the problem of energy limitation of wireless nodes,by referring to relevant literature and analyzing relevant research results at home and abroad,this paper studies from two aspects of message transmission protocol and network topology optimization.Firstly,a low power packet transmission protocol is proposed,which can reduce the size of uploaded packets and reduce the transmission power of wireless nodes.Secondly,the cluster head generation method of LEACH algorithm is improved,the topology of wireless network is optimized and the survival time of the whole network is prolonged.The research achievements mainly include:1.A low power packet transmission protocol is proposed to solve the problem of energy limitation in wireless sensor networks.The protocol is based on the low power information distribution model,which uses the short byte address allocated by the information distribution model as the internal communication address of the wireless network,compresses the packet header of the transmission protocol,reduces the size of the uploaded packet of the wireless node,and reduces the transmission power of the node.2.Aiming at the defects of the classical LEACH algorithm that the cluster head node sends long distance data and the nodes with low energy are elected to be the cluster heads,which lead to early inactivation,an improved algorithm is proposed.Combined with the current energy and the distance between the node and the center base station,the generation mode of the cluster head node is optimized,and the survival time of the whole network is doubled.3.A wireless sensor network platform based on ZigBee protocol is designed and implemented.The proposed low-power transmission protocol is applied to the platform,and the communication distance and power consumption are tested.The communication distance test results show that the effective communication distance of the network platform is 180 meters.Power consumption test results show that the working time of a wireless node is extended by 7.7%.The test results verify the practicability and energy saving effect of the proposed transmission protocol.
