In recent years, as the network technology and communication technology, embedded technology rapid development, wireless sensor network technology in people's production and life bring greater influence, been widely used. Short-range wireless communication network technology mainly includes the following:WiFi technology, bluetooth, infrared and ZigBee technology, etc. Compared with other, Zigbee technology has low complexity, low power consumption, low transmission rate, low cost, and many other advantages. And, ZigBee technology and sensor technology, combining established ZigBee wireless sensor networks.Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a kind of brand-new information platform, can real-time monitoring and acquisition network distribution area the various testing object information, and will send these messages to gateway node, in order to achieve the goal of complex to the extent specified detection and tracking. In WSN monitoring area, there are many sensor nodes, each sensor node can achieve information acquisition, data processing and wireless communications, and other functions, and through wireless communication networks. Nowadays, in environmental monitoring, industrial monitoring, modern agriculture monitoring, building automation, etc., wireless sensor network have broad application prospects.This paper introduces the design of the electric power temperature monitoring system based on ZigBee protocol. It applied the ZigBee technology and sensor technology. The temperature information collected by nodes are sent to gateway with wireless communication, and upload the data to the PC by a serial.In the existing substations, the collected temperature information is sent via wire network. The substation equipment is various, signal complex, difficult, existing integrated wiring quantity is big, the high cost and the maintenance difficulties disadvantages. For distribution parameters on-line detection means, we designed the power temperature monitoring system based on ZigBee technology. We introduce the system framework, and the functions of the parts and the design of the software and hardware. Nodes use the idea of modular design, mainly contain data acquisition module, microprocessor module, power supply module and wireless radio modules. The system continuous monitor the temperature of the cable connector contacts and joints in the high-voltage switchgear, and determine the overheat degree, when temperatures exceed preset threshold, warning instructions. Software is mainly design based on Z-Stack protocol, and complete automatic networking, data acquisition, serial communication and wireless communications, and other functions.After testing each module of system works well, realizes the system network and data communications, and obtains each node of the temperature timely and accurately, and meets its expected function.This article mainly introduces solutions of the power temperature monitoring system, and hardware and software implementation. This paper has reference value for the application of ZigBee technology.
