With the development of digital signal technology and computer, the modern industrial production and the scientific technological are based on digital processing. Digital processing is premise for the study of digital, namely, data collection. With the rapid development of computer, data collection system is also rapidly applied. In the research of scientific, data collection system can acquire a large number of dynamic information, and this is a powerful tool to research instantaneous physical processe, and it is also one of the important means to access scientific mysteries. Data collection system is widely used in many areas, such as radar, image disposal, software radio, transient signal test and so on.In this paper, it discusses how to use Field Programmable Gate Array (Virtex4-LX80) and Digital Singnal Processor(TMS320C6727)to realize multi-channel data collection system. Fristly, key technologies which are used in the system are described.and secondly, hardware design and circuit of the data collection system are introduced. Thirdly, external communication interface and the processing of acquisition are described. Finally, the DSP's procedure and testes are introduced.The design uses 16bit A / D converters and FPGA and DSP's architecture to control and manage the system. It is can work coordinatly.it uses the RS232 and RS422 interfaces to connect the host to achieve the transmission of data. It can work in offline or online mode, so it can expand the use areas.Besides, because FPGA is important for the external communication and the data cache of the system, so this article discusses detailly how to use Verilog HDL language to achieve the data collection, data communication and so on. Under the ISE9.1 environment, Modelsim simulation, synthesis and test are finished.This paper designs multi-channel data collection system based on FPGA and DSP.
