With the development of modern measurement and control technology, the grating sensor is widely used in the measurement of displacement and angle in precise meterage domain. Limited by the grating scratching technology, the way to improve the measurement precision of grating sensor is using electronic technique to subdivision the grating signal.In industry application, multiple gratings are widely used in many cases, and the system needs more stability, solidity and miniaturization, so the trend in development is to integrate the grating signal acquisition and transmission on one programmable chip.With the need of manufacturing arm coordinate measuring machine, the task studied the principle of grating sensor and the FPGA design technology, designed a multiple gratings signal collection system based on FPGA.The paper introduced the principle of grating and the factor of grating sensor signal, designed a reshaping, subdivision, differentiation direction and counter circuit for grating signal based on FPGA; designed a I~2C interface to communicates with MCU based on FSM(Finite State Machine);Using STM32F103VB MCU with hardware I~2C interface communicates with the FPGA system.This design has some strongpoint, such as miniaturization, velocity and programmable on line. This design had validated by grating sensor data acquisition experiment, can worked stability and solidity.
