With continued building of bridges in our country, bridge plays a growing role in the national economy. Due to the structural durability, environmental conditions and the use conditions, the proportion of the bridges which need repair and reinforcement to the total bridge is increasing. Developing bridge management system is an urgent task in bridge management. Bridge management system will effectively meet the managers' need of the bridge-data management, security and state assessment of bridge.Based on the analysis of bridge management system theory, the research builds a standard bridge database system, advises a standard of bridge -data input. In the research, Bridge information data is separated into static data, disease data and state assessment data. And, for each kind of data, integrated database tables are established. Advanced database management technology is used to make the management of data storage and handling convenient and quick.Targeted to the shortcomings of current bridge condition assessment, the research brings forward a method which integrates Analytic Hierarchy Process and variable weights as a tool for the assessment. The method uses different analysis model and more reasonable distribution of the weight in assessment of bridge with different structures. And the method can make the effect of partial component which exist server damage more explicit in the overall evaluation. The corresponding program module of evaluation is developed to make the evaluation process easy and simply. To improve the traditional paper data collection method which is difficult to adapt to modem bridge management, the research design a mobile data collection system by Personal Digital Assistant device to make the disease data collection convenient.
