With the continuous progress of science and technology, as well as the rapiddevelopment of modern society, traffic has become one of the index of the economicdevelopment and the quality of life, and it become more and more important inpeople’s daily life. The huge bridge is usually expensive, with the rapid increasing ofpopulation growth, traffic pressure grow with each passing day, if the safety accidentssuch as bridge collapse occurs, not only will cause significant casualties andeconomic losses, but also a very bad social influence and lots of problems for traffic.Therefore using scientific monitoring and assessment methods to ensure the bridgereliability, safety and durability is extremely important.The three-dimensional visualization technology development has brought newmanagement idea for bridge management, and the current bridge managementsoftware in domestic and foreign, is a rare use of three-dimensional visualizationtechnology. In addition, the modern bridge building concept becomes more and moreadvanced, the function of bridge build is more and more diversified, and more andmore new materials, more and more complex structure, all those make traditionaltwo-dimensional bridge information management system can not meet the need ofmodern bridge management. From application development of the geographicalinformation system, virtual reality and3D model, combination with the former2Dinformation management system, the application of three-dimensional component ofbridge management technology for3D visualization management of the bridgeinformation is more intuitive, more scientific.This paper mainly discusses the new ideas in solving the problem of modernbridge with the bridge management system based on3D, simulate the function ofbridge components with the virtual reality technology, to achieve a variety of userinteraction with the component relying on computer graphics visualization technology,including bridge components information Locating bridge components, bridgecomponents real-time monitoring, maintenance management, Linking bridge papersand so on. In addition, system design compatibility and expansibility, docking avariety of models, data exchange, reducing coupling between model and platform, andprovide underlying support for system integration.
