Bridges are the throat of traffic, it is one of the most important part of the roadnetwork. With the fast development of economic, the traffic volume of cities takes on atrend of rising. Because of the influence of the natural environment and traffic loading,deterioration degree of bridge performance is gradually increased,which makes a lotof bridges in service need maintenance and repair. At present, the main bridge inform-ation management in our country is based on the paper archives, the efficiency ofmanagement is low; In the background of rapid development of bridge construction,the demand of rationalization, informatization, scientific cannot be satisfied.computer technology and bridge maintenance technology are combined in this article toexploit the management system for bridges based on Web, the main research work of thisarticle includes:(1) The existing assessment systems of bridge were analyzed. The realization of thecombination of bridge evaluation and computer technology was considered, the computerevaluation methods base on《the specification of city bridges maintenance》 was selectedto assess bridge condition. The bridges are divides into17main parts and each partcontains several disease types. According to the degree of diseases, the evaluation criteriacan be divided into five levels (0-4).In the process of evaluation we just need to selectvarious types of diseases in turn according to descriptions of bridge diseases. At the sametime, we adopt the most unfavorable scale as the theory of final assessment scale.(2) The prediction function of the bridge condition index was studied. And itdeduces the prediction model of bridge condition index respectively using the the greysystem theory and regression analysis index theory, and then validates according to theactual data.Finally the cubic polynomial model was selected as the theory model of thesystem prediction module developed by the article.(3) The theory of web and database were studied. B/S structure (Browser/Server) was used to replace C/S (Client/Server) model. We get into the independentbridge management by the “System Entrance “of web page, the advantage of this model isthat we can not only view information of maintenance in good time, but also can improvethe development of other function of system. The limitations of some functiondevelopment of system under simple webpage were circumvented by this model. At the same time, the MySQL software was used to design the system database, database is usedto storage various types of data for the development of bridge management system. Thedata of system was classification stored in the form of tables, it is convenient forinformation interacting between system and database, so that the problems of storge andcalling a large number of data of system were solved.(4) The design and development of bridge management system. The “MicrosoftVisual Studio” software was used to design each function interface of bridge managementsystem, the system main function includes: bridge information query, data update, bridgeincrease or decrease, bridge condition evaluation and the bridge condition prediction index.And it also sets up a data interaction channel between bridges management system and thebackground database.
