According to the feature of WCDMA, at the basis of learn the experience of GSM, the paper initially studies of the characteristics, content, process of WCDMA radio network planning,and focus on the planning process. Finally, according to the actual situation of the urban area of a small city, the paper proposes the programme of WCDMA network planning of this region.Main works and content of this paper include:1.This paper firstly analyses WCDMA network structure and characteristics, provides the parameters. According to the actual requirement of the project, gives process of WCDMA radio network planning.2.Secondly, this paper analyses each part of process of WCDMA radio network planning, and focus on capacity planning, coverage planning and scrambling code planning .3.On the basis of the planning process and planning parameters, the paper makes the capacity planning, coverage planning of WCDMA network planning for the area of a small city and proposes the programme of WCDMA network planning of this region.4.Finally, this paper studies WCDMA network optimization and process and method of WCDMA network optimization.
