As a new direction of development, after several years of development, virtual instrument technology has been receiving increasing attention. Especially the use of virtual instrument program can greatly shorten the development cycle, lower development's cost, so it becomes the first choice to construct the modern observation system for people.Through the rich image's graphical interface and programming language's movement, the virtual instrument takes the control center by the computer and completes the measured signal gathering, the analysis, the judgment to realize demonstration and memory of the metrical data and the graph, to realize instrument's automatic control and the test automation.In the foundation of the microwave network analyzer's operation, this article through the built virtual instrument platform under the LABVIEW environment, using the USB/GPIB interface bus as well as the SCPI order, has realized to the microwave network analyzer's control. Finally using the built virtual instrument platform, we have carried on a series of movement test to the microwave network analyzer. To contrast the actual result of the virtual instrument platform and the microwave network analyzer, we confirmed the virtual instrument platform which we compiled definitely to be possible to substitute the microwave network analyzer actual operation interface. Finally we completed the microwave network analyzer's function of automatic control and automatic test.
