With the rapid development of science and technology, new technique and new products come forth continually. The function and flexibility of the instruments for detecting are required so much that they are being developed at very high speed. Just in this situation Virtual Instrument(VI) appears and play a more and more role in the detecting area gradually . Taking the testing desk of the receiver as the developing platform, the thesis emphasizes on the application of VI in the automation detecting system.By virtue of the computer as the hardware platform of the detecting system in the VI, customers can manipulate the computer by way of the friendly windows, introduce different ways in different situations, achieve the collection, display, analysis and disposal of what that is detected, and embody the concept of "Software is instruments". The function of the VI system based on GPIB in Test Bench of Receiver is fault diagnosis in analog circuit.Expert System and Neural Network are fault diagnoses in analog circuit. According to the different characters, the Test Bench of Receiver chooses Expert System. The thesis particularly expatiates on the constitution of the Receiver Expert System, including ingathering, expression and memory of knowledge, reasoning mode and controlling strategy of reasoning mechanism. Expert System diagnosis uses friendly man-computer dialog platform, fault tree diagnosis flow as diagnosis model. It has self-contained mechanism for knowledge ingathering and explain, and forward reasoning bases on uncertainty and data drive, search combines depth first and heuristic strategy.
