To solve fussy and unsafe manual test of mobile communication repeaters when repeaters are tested by R&D, manufacturing and network access licensing, and to improve efficiency of repeater test, we design a repeater automated test system base on GPIB interface bus Virtual Instrument. The automatic test system design according as currently automatic test system of domestic and foreign repeater leading provider and detecting organization, the automatic test system can test, config, diagnose and report automatically Sunwave each type of GSM, CDMA, DCS and WCDMA repeaters.In the test system, computer links signal generator, test instrument and RF switch by GPIB (IEEE488.2) interface bus with virtual instrument technology, computer config repeater by RS232 interface bus, computer with test software control repeater and all instruments to work following the prescribed order. Innovative technology of the repeater automatic test system will improve greatly repeaters test efficiency and utilization rate of instruments.We analyze fully interrelated industry standard to design process of automatic test. We use Philips LPC2212 ARM7 SCM as CPU for status monitor and Data AcQuisition in repeater, according as repeaters standard protocol of China Mobile central purchase in 2006. lntel8051 SCM is used to control RF switch system, lntel8291A and 8292 are used as GPIB interface control chip in programmable RF switch system case. The automatic system program software is written by Borland C++, computer call PNP VISA standard commands to control or read each signal generator and test instruments. Test report forms are output Word document by OLE for electronic office business expediently.The repeater automatic test system has excellent performance, and meets the goal of the design after Sunwave experiment in factory.
