System integration is a thorny problem in the healthcare information industry. To solve this problem, this article will provide a healthcare information system integration framework based on BPEL web service composition. The framework this article will introduce is a healthcare information system integration model based on service composition.Starting from analyzing the requirement for the integration in the healthcare information industry, the article also consider the existing standards, methodology and technologies, and then propose a healthcare information system integration framework based on BPEL web service composition. The main efforts and contributions this article affords are as follows:Initially this article will introduce some basic concept of WebService, WebService Composition and IHE: the concept of WebService, its key technology, and basic model; the concept of WebService Composition, some standards and model; then concept of IHE and its key technology. Based on these theories, propose the design of the technical framework. The design details such as WebService Engine, WebService Composition Engine, and WebService register center will also be covered. Then give an example of out hospital information system is given. In the end, address the advantage and disadvantage of this framework, and also describe the expect of the future.The framework will provide a extensible and generic platform for systems to be integrated with.
