Research On The Service Evaluation Of Shanghai Public Libraries

Public Libraries are cultural institutions, which play a significant role in the process of building a learning society and promoting people's cultural literacy.Recently, with the persistent development of politics, economy and culture of Shanghai, the Public Libraries of Shanghai become an urban information hub and cultural center of the city. Meanwhile, the service capabilities of Shanghai Public Libraries have achieved great improvement. But there are still some deficiencies lie in the daily services of public libraries. In order to promote the overall improvement in service level of public libraries, to increase the grade of public satisfaction with library services, and to fully exert the support function for the city development, the Public Library System of Shanghai is taken as the research object in this paper. Both overseas evaluation models and domestic evaluation models are referred to during the research process. One new service evaluation model has been put forward, which is applied in the systematic analysis and research on the service of the Public Library System of Shanghai. At last, some problems which lie in the current Public Library System of Shanghai are summed up into a list, also a series of suggestions and solutions which can be adopt to promote the service level of Public Library System of Shanghai have been given.
