Research And Design Of The MSI Integrated Circuit Automatic Test System

With the growing complication of modern control system and electronics, Automatic Test System(ATS)has became the necessary main equipment during the producing and testing of electronics. The automatic test system satisfies the requirements of high-speed and high-accuracy in the modern scientific research, whose future direction is in the standardization, modularization and serialization. An automatic test system is proposed. The system has a great number of merits, such as the high precision, easy to establish the condition, the good generality, automatically completing test process and so on. The system can change the measuring range automatically without manual operation, which also can analyse the test data according to the customer requirements.This paper firstly introduces the basic concept, consistance and classification of the automatic test system and also analyzes the background of the system at home and abroad. On the basis of this work, the construction of the mixed signal automatic test system was developed. The overall design program of the automatic test system based on the PCI bus was develped and implemented according to the requirments from the chip test manufacturers. Secondly, principles and test methods of the integrated circuit based on ATS are presented, the hardware circuits are designed and the software platform and test programme based on ATS is successfully ported to hardware platform.the system also provides customers with a man-machine interface with the features of intuitive, simple, easy-to-use and so on. It analyzes and researches the principles and test methods of two different types of chips and also gives the testing process.There is a satisfied results in practical applications. Finaly, it proposes the corresponding solution based on the research of all the factors which can affect the testing precision.The IC automatic test system is successfully used in a Beijing Microelectronics Co. Ltd. Its operation results show that the system is steady and is convenient for communicating with users, the test data of IC can be not only fed back to users promptly and accurately but also admitted by users. Its performances have reached the expected requirements. The proposed system is valuable for future application.
