This paper deals with design and development of the network video surveillanceterminal based on Blackfin DSP. ADSP-BF561 and ADSP-BF537 are provided ashardware basis for this terminal. In this terminal, video camera is used to collect audioand video signals. Meanwhile, MPEG-4 compression algorithm is used for videocompression, andVDK+LwIPwayis used for transmitting video signal in the network.This paper analyses the structure of systems in detail and main peripheral interfacesof ADSP-BF561.MPEG-4 compression algorithm on ADSP-BF561 is optimized andMPEG-4 compression algorithm program is designed. Its effect is tested. Video camerais used to collect analog audio and video signals.Then analog audio and video signalsare converted to digital singals by audio and video decoded chips. Finally, digital audioand video signals are transmitted to ADSP-BF561 processor byPPI channel. The wholevideo compression flow is finished. The network video surveillance terminal achievesthe function of video compression.According to the principle and application methods of VDK and the LwIP stack, thedriver of network chip LAN91C111 is designed and developed by loading LwIP stackvia VDK modular on ADSP-BF537 processor, which finishes the design and compilingof video network transmission programe, and achieves the video network transmittingfunction of the network video surveillance terminal.Finally, sum-up and prospect of network video surveillance terminal are given.
