Research And Applications Of Optical Real-time Monitoring System

With the demand of the information increasing steadily,optic communication grow up rapidly,which is one of the most important communication methods,and now 90%of the long distance communication use the optical cable as the transport medium.Optic communication has become the backbone of the strategy communication in our country.With the optical network scale becoming larger,maintenance and management become more and more crucial.The traditional optical cable network administration mostly depends on manpower.The low actual effect can not support the huge optical network effectively and the need of synthetically business cannot be fulfilled.Therefore,it is significant to establish the modern high efficiency and on-line dynamic optical network monitoring.The question for discussion aims at the optical network administration,including explaining and proving the necessity of building the optical cable monitoring system and carrying out the solutions of the system.From studying previous research and solutions,we design our system and play an important role in machine field.Firstly the thesis describes the research on the optical basic knowledge of the on-line cable monitoring system,particularly on the hard core of OTDR.And then we analyze three solutions of the system,and make detailed solution which is suitable to our own network.At last,according to the solutions we carry out the actual equipments.We also investigate the shadow of the OTDR and the other several problems.Since the end of 2007,the equipments have been running steadily and reliably and alarmed for three times successfully.The system provided much information for us and has reached the purpose of our design.
