Research Of Knowledge Reuse In Standard Part Library Management System

Knowledge-Reuse is a process to design new product that makes use of the existing products embedded design knowledge and experience. Based on feature reuse, standard part reuse, assembly relation reuse and design process reuse, the management system of standard part library system could be used to integrate and reuse the knowledge in different levels. Also, it could be implemented to design assembly automatically on UG-NX and collaboratively on TeamCenter.According to the function requirement characteristics of standard part library management system based on knowledge reuse, the methods and the key technologies are discussed. The models of each standard part could be created based on parametric method, and the pocket feature related to the standard part could be created with UDF(user defined feature) method. Based on the classification of the system knowledge, the representation, such as graphics, table, XML representation and object-oriented representation are adopted to describe the knowledge structure of the standard part library management system. By using these knowledge, the standard parts can quickly be queried out based on case-based reasoning, and the assembly can be automatically designed based on rule-based reasoning.Based on the theories and methods mentioned above, the standard part library management system based on knowledge-reuse has been developed. The system could be used to match for orientation and dimension automatically during assembly design, then the users can edit it and get the final design. So that, the design cycle can be shorten dramatically, and the design efficiency and quality can be improved greatly.
