Fieldbuses are becoming more widely used to communicate among control devices in the automated production manufacturing environment. As a kind of fieldbus WorldFIP is in accordance to the international standards, and can preferably combine real-time quality with efficiency requirement. In other words, based on the premise that do not influence real-time communication, WorldFIP is able to transfer random information on the same bus, which have laid a solid foundation for the integration with IT technology.To solve the communication problems between of WorldFIP and the Ethernet, the author design the WorldFIP/Ethernet gateway EtherFIP. EtherFIP connects the WorldFIP fieldbus to an Ethernet network where an ordinary PC or Programmable Logic Controller can be used for monitoring and controlling the control system. In the testing of the EtherFIP, the communication of the WorldFIP fieldbus and the Ethernet can work normally and stably, which lay a solid foundation for the design of the WorldFIP control system.We choose NetBox-II embedded net module and WorldFIP communication chips devices to design the EtherFIP. And on the software we choose uC/OS-II embedded system. This paper describes the hardware, the software and the test of the EtherFIP.
