Along with the improvement of living standards and the popularity of household appliances, as well as the increase of medium and small sized industrial enterprises, especially the use of large-scale electronic power devices, cause the electric network's power factor to be mostly low particularly, it results in the decline in the quality of power supply, but also brings an additional burden to the power network. To the power supply department, in order to reduce the energy loss of power transmission line, requests enterprises to carry on the reactive power compensation. To the enterprises, in order to economize electric cost, improve their own competition, avoid the heavy fine for low power factor, requests to carry on the reactive power compensation to their own electrical equipment. To the country, in the principle of people-oriented, energy conservation and environmental protection, the benefit of future generations, also requests to improve the power factor of power network. Thus, in all its aspects, it is very urgent for the research of reactive power compensation. But to enterprises, the condition of the scene which the electrical equipment locates is often bad, but also has a certain risk, it is not convenient for the staff to monitor the related data. Therefore, it is more urgent for the research of reactive power compensation based on the long-distance transmission technology. The thesis precisely launches the discussion and research regarding this point, has completed the following work specifically:Firstly, in the thesis, the basic principle and the domestic and oversea research status of reactive power compensation are introduced briefly, including the basic concepts of reactive power compensation, the current basic questions and solutions. It also briefly introduces the current situation and question of long-distance transmission technology. Demonstrates the feasibility and operability of reactive power compensation based on long-distance transmission technology. Summarizes the structure and function of system.Secondly, acquires the related data of electrical equipment, including the rms (root mean square) of AC (Alternating Current) voltage and current. And calculates the related parameter of power factor, including the active power, reactive power and power factor. According to the results of calculation and statistics, SCM (Single Chip Micyoco) accurately and rapidly carries on the related operation of reactive power compensation, thus realizes the improvement of power factor. Also displays the related data which is acquired and arranged in the scene, and sends the data to the GPRS data transmission terminal through the serial port, to prepare for the data of long-distance transmission. The experimental data are given, analyses and summaries the compensation results of before and after.Thirdly, GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) wireless transmission technology is introduced briefly. Installs the related parameter of GPRS data transmission terminal, guarantees its normal work. Also demonstrates the choice of network access.Fourthly, in order to verify the feasibility of system, realizes the display and save of data which is acquired on superior PC (i.e. Server), facilitates the staff to monitor the data in the future.The research of reactive power compensation based on long-distance transmission technology is referred in the exploration stage. From the aspects of reactive power compensation's effect, the entire network's smooth depress, the establishment of the database on PC, needs further research.
